UNDERWATER TREADMILL
Aquatic Therapy provides the perfect environment for both exercise and rehabilitation. The buoyancy of the water decreases the force of gravity, creating less impact on the bones and joints, while resistance aids in strengthening and conditioning.

- Accelerate rate of recovery
CONDITIONING
Whether your dog participates in agility, obedience, field trials or conformation, conditioning will help your dog to be physically prepared for the task. An individualized program is developed to improve body condition, increase endurance, flexibility, and strength.
WEIGHT LOSS
It has been estimated that over 50% of U.S. dogs and cats are overweight. Losing even a few pounds can have a significant impact on your pet’s health and wellbeing. Our Rehabilitation Department can create a weight loss program designed for your pet, including monitoring your pet’s diet and increasing activity and exercise.

Rehabilitation FAQs
What kind of therapy do we offer?
Animal Clinic Northview offers a variety of physical therapy for small animals, depending on your pet’s needs. We offer acupuncture, laser therapy, massage, physical therapy, pool therapy, shockwave therapy, and an underwater treadmill.
How do you know if your pet is at a healthy weight?
A healthy weight is determined by your pet’s breed, age, and activity level. Your pet should have a visible waist from above, and you should be able to feel their ribs without excessive fat. If you notice any changes, schedule a visit, and we can perform a weight assessment.
What can I do if my pet is overweight?
Our team can design a tailored weight loss plan for your pet. This can include dietary adjustments, exercise plans, and weekly physical therapy depending on your pet’s health status and needs.
How much exercise does my pet need every day?
The amount of exercise your pet needs is based on your pet’s breed, age, and current health status. On average, most pets need at least 30 minutes of physical activity per day. We can advise you on an activity plan based on your pet’s specific needs.
Is therapy worth it for my pet?
Yes! Therapy is helpful for any pet, no matter what the issue may be. It is helpful for arthritis, post-surgery, weight loss, or even just exercise. If you think your pet would benefit from therapy, please reach out to our team, and we can help decide what therapy would be best for your pet.
How long does a pet therapeutic laser session last?
The length of a therapy session is based on the severity of the problem, along with what type of therapy being performed. Typically, an average session lasts anywhere from 15-30 minutes. This could be less or more, depending on what is going on with the pet.
How many sessions of laser therapy will my pet need?
The number of sessions depends on your pet’s condition and response to treatment. We will create a personalized plan to ensure your pet gets the best care possible.
